Back Boys Become Men: Book Four ~ Backwoods Survival

Last Updated: March 10, 2023
Synopsis Jake and Jason Williams are cousins and their fathers were brothers who had married sisters. They were born within a few weeks of each other and the two families had owned and operated the Meadow Valley Lumber Company they had inherited from the boys' Grandfather. Their operation was deep in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, east of Foresthill and straddled the California-Nevada state line. They hired about twenty fellers and a forestry crew, along with another forty employees in the mill, divided into two shifts. They produced construction lumber and plywood, up to one inch thick. They had recently invested in a second plywood press and they were running two dry kilns throughout the season. Jake and Jason had just returned from the University, after completing their degrees. They had worked at all the jobs in the forest and mill as teenagers and their Dads were hoping the boys could take over the operation in a few years.
